Development log 8: End of production
Dear sand-sailors, dust-catchers and other dwellers of the desert sea!
We have added everything we wanted to the game! It has everything that a game should have to be fun! We will of course spend more time on increasing the quality of the final product, but the main part of the work is done, phew! Let's talk about the very last things we added to the game!
Particles: Magic of the Dust
We finally managed to implement some good particles and attached it to the game events to make the gameplay look more intriguing! These particles serve as an accent for some actions that we wanted to highlight, for example: the process of healing or free-roaming through the desert! We had a clear vision on particles in the game, but still spent some time on polishing and adjusting them!
Chilling in the magical oasis!
Stats table: what is your power?
We have finally added a proper way to visualize, how powerful your ship is at the moment! Now you can always press a button on your controller to check out, what upgrades did you get from the level ups! Remember that you get random upgrade so make sure to be aware what your strong sides are this round!
Nice! Fully upgraded TurboDash! Let's goooo!
Life in motion: new animations!
Our artists have put some effort into animating dynamic parts of the desert. This is a little detail but it really changes the way you perceive the world of the sand-sea! Things might seem playful and inviting but don't be fooled: danger awaits around each boulder!
The wind gets stronger...
Sounds of the desert sea: music and sound effects!
We are happy to introduce you the OST of the game, made by Ross Bugden(https://www.youtube.com/c/RossBugden/videos) and Derek & Brandon Fiechter (https://www.youtube.com/c/DerekBrandonFiechter/videos)! You can listen to the tunes used in the game here:
We also added a lot of sound effects to accompany your journey! Explosions, TurboDash, cruising around - everything has a sound now! Don't forget that those sounds are 3D so you can make use of them in the game situations to tell where a damaged enemy ship is, who has just been blown up and why you should not move in this direction!
On the visual part: we are polishing graphics and try to make everything shine bright enough to amaze you!
We have finally reached the most final stages of this game's development! We will do our best to polish it very well before the game jam! Thank you for being with us all the time! See you desert raiders...
